WHO WE ARE
OUR VISION
A world where no child goes hungry — not for food, education, shelter, medical care, or the opportunity to reach their full potential.
PagasaKids was founded after Typhoon Mangkhut devastated Northern Luzon in 2018. Our founders saw children sleeping in evacuation centers with nothing. They couldn't look away.
What started as a group of friends packing relief goods has grown into a registered non-profit with full-time staff, volunteers across 18 provinces, and ongoing care for hundreds of children.
OUR MISSION
Creating safe spaces where children feel secure and protected.
Giving every child a dream worth fighting for.
Education, skills, and programs that build lasting futures.
Rapid, on-the-ground response — 48 hours after any disaster.
Because a child's joy is the measure of everything we do.
Alalay means support in Filipino. We stand by every child.
OUR TEAM
Former DSWD social worker, 15 years in child welfare across Visayas and Mindanao.
Veteran of 12 major typhoon responses. Leads all rapid-deployment teams.
Clinical psychologist specializing in childhood trauma and family reunification.
CPA with a background in non-profit governance. Keeps us accountable to every donor.
WHAT WE DO
BAYANIHAN EMERGENCY RESPONSE
The Philippines is one of the most disaster-prone nations on Earth — an average of 20 typhoons cross the country every year. When they hit, children are always the most vulnerable.
Our rapid-response teams are pre-positioned across the archipelago. When disaster is declared, we mobilize within 48 hours.
CHILD CARE PROGRAM
Thousands of Filipino children are abandoned each year — left in hospitals, on streets, or in overcrowded facilities. Often because their parents face extreme poverty or crisis. These children are not unloved. They are unseen.
We see them. And we refuse to leave them behind.
HUNGER RELIEF PROGRAM
In the communities we serve, most children rely on our feeding program as their primary — and sometimes only — meal of the day. A warm, balanced meal makes the difference between a child who can focus at school and one who cannot.
REAL STORIES
Names changed to protect privacy. Stories shared with guardian consent.
"Typhoon Odette took our house. Mama cried for days. Then Pagasa came. They gave us food and a place to sleep. My teacher said I am the best reader in class now. I want to be a doctor."
Maria and her family were found sheltering under a damaged roof three days after the typhoon. PagasaKids provided emergency food, relocated them to temporary shelter, and enrolled Maria in a nearby school. She now attends daily and receives weekly check-ins from our social workers.
"I used to share a room with 30 other kids. Now I have house parents. They tuck me in. I didn't know what that felt like."
Ramon was found in a public hospital at 3 days old. He spent his early years in an overcrowded government facility. PagasaKids placed him in a family-style care home where he now has house parents, siblings, and a school he loves. He plays guitar and wants to perform at his school program this December.
"I almost stopped school. I thought my dream was over. PagasaKids told me my dream was just beginning."
A flash flood in Davao del Sur took both of Ana's parents in one night. Facing dropout, PagasaKids provided a full scholarship, a foster family in her own community, and psychosocial counselling. She recently won a regional science competition and has been accepted into an engineering track.
